What does a TPI Certified chiropractor do for golfers?
I'm Dr. Dave Atlas, a TPI Certified, sports-focused chiropractor. TPI is the Titleist Performance Institute, the organization behind the certification. My aim with every patient is the one in my bio: helping athletes and active people move better, perform at their best, and stay injury-free.
Golf isn't abstract for me. Alongside weightlifting, pickleball and paddleboarding, it's one of the things I do for fun, so I know what it's like when your body won't do what you're asking of it on the course.
Where should a golfer start?
My lower back is sore after a round
Start with lower back pain after golf. It's built on one of my reels: “Lower back sore after a round of golf? You may need to train opposite side rotation.”
My rotation feels stiff or one-sided
Read golf rotation exercises for both sides of your swing: why I train anti-rotation and counter-rotation in both directions, and what that does for your speed and for your thoracic spine and hips.
My back hurts off the course too
Dr. Abby's page on seeing a chiropractor for lower back pain covers lower backs in general, golf or not.
What is a TPI screen?
One golfer wrote this in a Google review:
"As a golfer, I'm always looking for a practitioner who understands my specific frustrations when it comes to playing pain-free and Dave has the training and the Titleist Performance Institute Certification that gives me confidence I'm in credible and capable hands. Thanks team!"

Where can I see a TPI Certified chiropractor?
I see patients at our Islandia office on Veterans Memorial Highway, next door to Hauppauge. To book, call or text 631-212-2996 and mention that it's for golf. My training and license are on our about page.
